About The Storehouse

The Storehouse is a community house of prayer and mission base for Madison/Huntsville, Alabama area. The Storehouse is but one expression of the movement of the Holy Spirit throughout the world to renew and equip the church to be keepers of the two greatest commandments: to love God with all our being and to love our neighbors as ourselves [Mark 12:30-31].

Jesus prayed that his followers would be united as one. "May [my disciples] be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me." [John 17:23] It is the heart of the Storehouse ministry to demonstrate the unity of the Body of Christ and to strengthen local churches.

As demonstrated many times throughout history, a new work of God is initiated through believers who cry out to the Lord day and night [Luke 18:7]. Through music, the prophetic word and prayer, intercessory worshippers seek the face of the Lord and yearn for the powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit. It is through this anointing that Christ followers are equipping to live sacrificially and lovingly the life of Jesus in a darkening world.

Governor's Proclamation - Call to Prayer Over Gulf Oil Disaster

CALL TO PRAYER OVER GULF OIL DISASTER

In a united effort, all 5 gulf states have issued proclamations calling for a state-wide Day of Prayer Over the Gulf Oil Crisis on Sunday June 27th, 2010. As the crisis continues, with a spill unstopped, and devastation of livelihood, economy, land, and environment corporate united prayer is beginning to be called for at every level of life and even government.

Texas - Governor Rick Perry's Prayer Proclamation
Louisiana - Governor Bobby Jindal's Prayer Proclamation
Alabama - Governor Bob Riley's Prayer Proclamation
Mississippi - Governor Haley Barbour's Prayer Proclamation
Florida - Florida's Prayer Proclamation

In particular, the Governor of Alabama issued a proclamation declaring Sunday June 27th as a "Day of Prayer Over the Gulf Oil Disaster" in Alabama, and he is asking citizens to pray individually and in their houses of worship for remedy of the spill and leak, and well-being of the citizens, economy, land, and environment.

May the one who stopped the issue of blood from a woman whom doctors and physicians of men could find no remedy, seal this issue of oil and gas, and bring health, healing, and wholeness to people, economies, land, and environment ... for He who heals hearts and men, is just as able to heal economies and Land (2 Chr 7:14). Hallelujah!

Governor Riley Declares Sunday a Day of Prayer
Over Gulf Oil Disaster

MONTGOMERY - Governor Bob Riley has declared Sunday, June 27 as a Day of Prayer and he is encouraging Alabamians to pray for the well-being of people who have been impacted by the BP oil disaster.

“Citizens of Alabama are urged to pray for the well-being of our fellow citizens and our state, to pray for all those in other states who are hurt by this disaster, to pray for those who are working to respond to this crisis, and to pray that a solution that stops the oil leak is completed soon,” the Governor’s proclamation declaring Sunday a Day of Prayer states.

“Throughout our history, Alabamians have humbly turned to God to ask for His blessings and to hold us steady during times of struggle. This is certainly one of those times,” said Governor Riley.

The text of the Governor’s proclamation is below:

WHEREAS, Alabama is suffering from an unprecedented disaster caused by the explosion and sinking of the BP Deepwater Horizon and its aftermath, a disaster that threatens the livelihoods of our fellow citizens, the environmental beauty of our coast, and our quality of life; and

WHEREAS, throughout our history, Alabamians have turned in prayer to God to humbly ask for His blessings and to hold us steady during times of difficulty; and

WHEREAS, citizens of Alabama are urged to pray for the well-being of our fellow citizens and our State, to pray for all those in other states who are hurt by this disaster, to pray for those who are working to respond to this crisis, and to pray that a solution that stops the oil leak is completed soon:

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Bob Riley, Governor of Alabama, do hereby declare Sunday, June 27, 2010, as a Day of Prayer in Alabama and encourage individuals to pray on their own or with others, according to their own faith, in an expression of faith and hope.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that citizens of Alabama are also encouraged to give personal thanks to God for the blessings we have received and for God’s continued guidance during these difficult times.
