See You At The Pole (SYATP)

SYATP

"Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you
great and mighty things, which you do not know."
Jeremiah 33:3

What Is See You at the Pole?

First, you need to know that SYATP is student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led. That means this is all about students meeting at their school flagpole to pray—for their school, friends, teachers, government, and nation. This is not a demonstration, political rally, or a stand for or against anything.

When Do We Do It?

September 21, 2005 @ 7AM (7:00 a.m. local time is just the suggested time - If that doesn't work for your school, choose your own time, but let everyone know!)

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF)

Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) of NE Alabama has evangelism opportunities still available at the Chapel on Wheels and its adjacent tent at the Northeast Alabama Fair this Labor Day weekend, most afternoons and evenings, within the 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. time range. Children passing by are given twisted animal balloons with tracts tied to them and those who take time in our exhibit area are told the Wordless Book Story. The Wordless Book Story is a means of conveying the gospel. In that story, the following meanings are associated with colors in a book: Gold page means God and heaven. Dark page means Sin and death. Red page means Jesus' death in our place. The burial and resurrection are mentioned on this page, too. Clean page means receiving Jesus for forgiveness of sins. The child is told how to trust or believe in/on Jesus for salvation. Green page means G.R.O.W. which means Go to church (fellowship with believers); Read the Bible and pray; Obey God; Witness (Tell others)The children are given opportunity to receive or make a bracelet with leather and colored beads having these same colors. They also can spin a spinner and if they can say the meaning of the color that the spinner lands on, then they get an additional candy prize with tract attached.

We prefer that volunteers serve for 3 hours, although we are flexible. We like to get 6-8 volunteers per shift. Some help invite the children to our booth, holding out balloons to offer them. Others tell the Wordless Book Story or help the children make bracelets. Some volunteers in some shifts paint faces. Some also run a puppet show, lip syncing puppet mouths with a 7 minute pre-made recording. There are a variety of jobs to do. We would train you at the fair just before you serve. Call Susan at 830-6542 and leave your phone number and times it is OK to return your call if you get an answering machine. Susan's e-mail address is s_stulting@netzero.com.

To find out more about this CEF organization one could look at www.cefonline.com which is the headquarters website of this organization. CEF is an interdenominational. Workers should not promote their own church or specific doctrines of their church or denomination since many churches are working together to get the gospel across. We should stick to the basics of the gospel, which we all agree on and is the main point of this ministry. CEF is dedicated to reaching unchurched children. CEF has been around and incorporated since 1937. It has many missions in other countries as well as the USA.

Our Chapel on Wheels will be fairly near the entrance of the fair gate, in the center of the asphalt. There will be a few exhibits before us. The fair is on the old airport asphalt northwest of the Police Academy near Airport Road. Airport Road turns into Johnson Road east of the Parkway. You will be able to see a ferris wheel from the intersection of Airport Road and the Parkway, which is the nearest intersection of major roads to the fair.

Summit Crossing Community Church
About SC3 (Summit Crossing Community Church)
The Abridged Version

Summit Crossing Community Church is a church plant, or new church start, to be located in the Zierdt Road community of Madison, Alabama. SC3 began as a God-inspired concept of a 1st century church for the 21st century planted in the hearts of a few men in February 2001. After two years of prayer and planning, Summit Crossing Community Church was born in 2003.

SC3 began meeting corporately for worship in a home during the summer of 2003 and in October, moved to the BCM at the University of Alabama-Huntsville. Woodland Hill Baptist Church graciously allowed us to use their Family Life Center to worship in for a couple of months. God has now given us a building to worship in on the corner of Slaughter Road and Eastview Drive in Madison. God continues to bless and grow the core group of this new work with the addition of new faces, weekly small group Bible studies and college, student & children's ministries.

We are excited about what God will do in the future!

For a more detailed look at the history and future plans of SC3, download our prospectus.

Vision - Why We're Here

At SC3, we believe three words sum up what we're all here for:

Elevate - the Savior (John 12:32)
Evangelize - the Word (Acts 1:8; Matthew 28:19-20)
Equip - the Believer (Matthew 28:20; I Timothy 4:8)

We elevate the Savior through worship. Worship is a God-honoring lifestyle we live out daily and not just what we do corporately on Sunday morning. We evangelize the world by telling others about what Jesus Christ has done for us and how we can all have a relationship with God through a saving knowledge of Jesus. We equip those who believe in Jesus by building relationships, teaching the Word and through ongoing accountability which in turn prepares the believer to go and do likewise.

THE VISION
The Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem,
instituted with the
endorsement of Christian leaders from around the world, representing tens of millions of Christians, will be held on the first Sunday of every October.
This call is for sustained, fervent, informed global intercession for the plans and purposes of God for Jerusalem and all her people. This global grassroots prayer initiative coincides with the season of Yom Kippur, recognizing the Jewish roots of the Christian faith.

Our goal, by God's grace, is that by next October we will have:

• 100 participating nations
• 100 million believers participating
• 100,000 participating churches
