JOE DAVIS STADIUM

Area-Wide Evangelistic Outreach - Hallelujah!

Second-largest crowd ever at Joe Davis Stadium of 11,541 with close to 500 people responding to the invitation and over 250 public commitments for Christ! See note below from the morning after ...

Extremely good Monday morning, Huntsville leaders!

What an amazing evening we had last night at Safe at Home! As always, our God showed Himself to be incredibly faithful! The place was packed, and the weather was excellent! Many thanks to all of you who sowed seeds and helped us water them. We saw some lasting fruit spring up as 261 trusted Christ as the Savior and Lord there at Joe Davis Stadium!

Our follow-up team will be sending you a copy of any decision cards we received that list your church as their preference or as being located close to them. As a participating church with Safe at Home, the responsibility of your church and mine is to follow up with each and every one of those names within 48 hours.

On behalf of Scott and the entire SDEA team, let me say that words cannot express how much we appreciate every thing you did to make Safe at Home Huntsville a great success for the Kingdom! Please let me know if we can ever help you in any way!!

I've included a press release below that I thought you might find interesting.

Preparing for the Follow-up!

Press Release sent 8/08/05:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE!
Not since Michael Jordan’s baseball days has Joe Davis Stadium experienced such a large crowd. Safe at Home with Scott Dawson, in partnership with the Huntsville Stars, drew a crowd of 11, 544. Although the forecast called for rain, the weather was perfect for this event. 261 people made public commitments to Christ.

According to Gary Ward, Director of Ticket Operations, “It was an amazing event unlike anything the Stars or the entire North Alabama community has ever seen.” Dr. Murray Wilton, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, stated, “I believe God has answered our prayers. This event is going to have a lasting impact upon our city. I believe God has started a mighty work to bring many people into the Kingdom.”

Grammy and Dove award-winning group, Point of Grace, provided an inspiring concert between the double-header game between the Huntsville Stars and the Mississippi Braves. Rick and Bubba from the Rick and Bubba Show added their morning show flair to Safe at Home. Scott Dawson, the creator of Safe at Home, communicated a message of hope through Christ. Grammy-winning artist, TobyMac, completed the evening with an energetic concert that appealed to people of all ages. After the concert, he commented, “I grew up playing athletics, so I love the combination of athletic energy, the emotion of my music, and the presentation of the Gospel by Scott Dawson…I’m all about it.”

Dwayne Moore, director of Safe at Home Huntsville, said, “This event is unprecedented in North Alabama because over one hundred churches from at least fourteen different denominations came together. Their unified purpose was to touch this whole region for Christ.”

Huntsville Christian Business Expo
Saturday, October 29th, Von Braun Center

We are scheduling business expositions across the US. These expos are designed to bring together Christian owned/operated businesses and the Christian consumer.

2 out of 3 (67%) of consumers surveyed indicate they would prefer to do business with Christian owned/operated businesses BUT ... they don't know which businesses are and are not Christian based!!!

We intend to change this troubling paradigm and unite the Christian consumer with Christian businesses.

Huntsville Association of Pastoral Care (HAPC)

The Huntsville Association for Pastoral Care (HAPC) was founded in 1977 through a joint effort of clergy, medical professionals and local congregations. It is an organization composed of representatives from many Christian denominations and also healing and helping professionals. Its mission it to initiate and support Chaplaincy programs; to offer education and encouragement for Chaplains, pastors and lay ministers; and to stimulate growth in community pastoral care and counseling. This “Network of Caring” works in the development and ongoing support of chaplaincy programs (currently linked with ten chaplain programs); sponsors educational programs (including Project Dialogue Community Forums, co-sponsored public forums, “Religion and Psychology” discussions, training programs offered to area ministerial, and the School for Applied Ministry); and coordinates the countywide Pastoral Care Day in October. HAPC served as the catalyst for the Huntsville Hospital Department of Pastoral Care, for the Vine Pastoral Counseling Center, for the formation of the Council for Faith and Mental Illness, for and the birthing and development of the North Alabama Parish Nursing Initiative, and more recently the Madison County Coalition for Healthy Marriages.
