Safe at Home Huntsville - A Note to Huntsville Leadership

    Dear Huntsville Leaders,

As of Wednesday, July 27, we have close to 80 churches participating with nearly 7000 tickets sold! PTL!

However, we have some pressing needs that are still not met:

    • We have 1000 underprivileged children and their families who want to attend Safe at Home. But thus far no one has stepped forward to fund the 1000 tickets needed. (In Winston-Salem, NC this past weekend, a large number of those who came forward during Safe at Home Winston-Salem were inner-city people who had been given tickets to come!) Please let us know if your church or a business person you know can help these children and adults come and hear the Gospel.
    • Despite our efforts and the many churches signed on, we have only trained a handful of counselors (Encouragers) thus far! We need a minimum of 300 counselors on that field that afternoon! Please do all you can to encourage your people to attend one of our remaining training sessions: Grace Lutheran Church (south Parkway) tonight, July 28, from 6:30 - 7:30 PM or The Rock Family Worship Center (located in the old Service Merchandise Building on the Parkway between Governor's and Bob Wallace) next Wednesday night, August 3, from 7 - 8 PM.
    • We need to sell about 6000 more tickets in order to reach our budget. Please ask your people to pray that we will pack out that stadium for His glory!!

Remember, you can order tickets online or by calling 1-800-869-8738, ext. 320. Please call me on my cell at 256.509.4026 if I can answer any questions you have or help you in any way.

One Church Tour - Bringing People Together Thru Music!

    GospelCity.com Quote

    “One Church
is a testament to the scope of Carr's musical genius. His latest collection embraces music from a multi-cultural and international scope. No race, nationality or creed is left untouched. From the use of a South African choir and Scottish bagpipers, to an Armenian accordionist, “ One Church ” is the perfect embodiment of the notion that all of God's children are just that, one church in Christ.

G-Zone Article: Kurt Carr: Bringing People Together Thru Music

Kurt Carr, who has become one of the mainstays of modern gospel music, right up there with Kirk Franklin, Donnie McClurkin and Yolanda Adams, is on a mission. The journey’s long, and sometimes it’s hard, but he continues to work long hours toward breaking down barriers within the church, especially when it comes to color and race.

Carr’s main musical aim is to bring people together of different colors and backgrounds. That’s always been in his plan, but now, more than ever, he is committed to the cause, going so far as to name his latest CD, “One Church,” and listen to contemporary Christian music vocal group Avalon in order to influence his own music so it reaches outside of the often insular black community.

“Martin Luther King made a statement that 10 o’clock on Sunday morning is the most segregated hour of the week because— generally—whites, blacks, Asians, and Hispanics worship together independent of each other,” says Carr. “With my new CD, I hope to open the minds of people, making a ripple that will get bigger and bigger, getting people to think we can worship with people who are different than us, and listen to things we might not normally listen to.” (Read Full Article)
