Area-Wide Initiatives to BLESS OUR CITY! |

90 Days of Compassion and Outreach
Community Transformation Initiatives
Greater Huntsville & Madison County Area
The following outreach opportunities are being coordinated through local participating churches/ministries and represent the beginning of a 5-year plan to bless our communities and city for Christ.
TOGETHER ...
May we WASH THE FEET OF OUR CITY!
GDOP City-Wide Compassion Coalition "Ground Zero" - Terry Heights!
While joint efforts among congregations will be occurring throughout the city during these 90 days, the emerging strategy for the 90 Days of Compassion and Outreach includes a city-wide focus to target a specific geographic area with need (undergirding and lifting the arms of those ministries God has planted in that area), with the intent for something lasting to emerge (or be enlarged) and sustained locally once the city-wide focus completes.
This year the city-wide geographic focus will be Terry Heights, which will serve as our "Ground Zero" for the initial compassion efforts of the next 90 days (working outward) - whether community service, food distribution, neighborhood revitalization (roofing, repair homes, etc.), block parties (community relationship), etc.
The promises of PRAYER and FASTING coupled with COMPASSION and JUSTICE are staggering - May the LORD confirm His Word in our city!
"Is not this the fast that I have chosen? ... is it not to deal thy bread to the hungry, and that thou bring the poor that are cast out to thy house? when thou seest the naked, that thou cover him ...
THEN shall thy light break forth as the morning, and thine health shall spring forth speedily: and thy righteousness shall go before thee; the glory of the LORD shall be thy reward ...
And if thou draw out thy soul to the hungry, and satisfy the afflicted soul ...
THEN shall thy light rise in obscurity, and thy darkness be as the noon day ... And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not."
SELAH! (Isa 58:6-11)

The Madison Baptist Association
Great Commandment, Great Commission Ministries
Meet Our Staff
Madison Baptist Association is a sparkling ray in the dawn of the new century. For decades upon decades, years upon years, days upon days, the Association has been about missions. With the dawn of Great Commandment/Great Commission Ministries, the Association is in a position to move with a quicker response and a more directed impact on our county, our state our nation and our world.
The reason for MBA is to serve churches one at a time to find their fullest potential in developing their God-given vision. Great Commandment/Great Commission Ministries, five leadership teams and four standing committees structure us.
When John Long our Director of Missions was asked the question, “What is the mission of the Association? He answered, “Our mission is to serve churches and ministries by enabling them to fulfill effectively the mission of Jesus Christ in ways relevant to our world and appropriate to our diversity.” He continued, “Leadership Teams are to work with the churches and ministries of the association. Each church is vital in reaching our county for Christ. It is the members of the local church who are the key in fulfilling the Great Commission.” We are here to serve, to assist, to partner with churches and ministries through resources, expertise, consultations, and training, to enable churches to the best churches possible.

Call from Africa to Reach the Nations!
Surely it is not coincidence that immediately following the Call to Prayer from Africa with the Global Day of Prayer, and during the 90 Days of Compassion and Outreach that the German Evangelist Reinhard Bonnke ( www.cfan.org , Christ for All Nations) - called to the continent of Africa, and used of the LORD in the salvation of more than 38 million souls in the last 6 years - is coming to the Tennessee Valley (when he rarely travels outside of Africa)!
All are called to help reach the nations, but without doubt the Greater Huntsville Area has a truly unique opportunity and redemptive potential to touch the world, with such a cross-section of nations and cultures represented due to the technology industry that has emerged drawing from so many nationalities.
A coalition of key ministries and churches have agreed to work together to bring ONE BILLION SOULS to Christ over the next decade and plant five million new churches in an effort to complete the Great Commission in our lifetime.
Reinhard Bonnke will be present for several special services in North Alabama at Calvary Assembly (see details) and also for a free pastors luncheon in association with an international One Billion Soul Initiative Monday, June 13, 2005 , from 11:30am to 1:30pm at the Holiday Inn & Suites, Decatur , AL in the Wilson/Morgan Ballroom. Pastors must RSVP due to limited space (call 355-7440 or email ccasebolt@calvaryassembly.org.).
For the sake of the nations!
