Huntsville Silent Siege - Prayer Vigil for the Nation

Mission Huntsville - Special Note: A growing pro-life prayer movement has been ignited among the young people in our nation, sparked by The Cause USA and a tremendous burden for the unborn - the children of their generation who have not survived due to the legal decision 32 years ago in the ruling of Roe v. Wade.

On this Tuesday, January 18th, 2005 (the day after Dr. Martin Luther King's birthday) the Roe v. Wade appeal will again be presented to the U.S. Supreme Court by Norma McCorvey (the original plaintiff - i.e. Roe). This has sparked a national gathering in D.C. at the Lincoln Memorial today (Monday), and will include prayer vigils at courts around the nation on Tuesday in what has become known as the "Silent Siege." (See recent pictures and also Bound 4 Life)

In addition a Justice House of Prayer is being opened this week in D.C. for day and night prayer for our judges, courts, and the unborn, and this decision coming once again before our nation.

National Prayer Vigil for the Unborn

Youth groups, students, and prayer warriors from around the community are joining together with others who share this burden for the unborn for the prayer vigil that will occur at the Huntsville courthouse (the Huntsville Silent Siege) in unison with others across the nation Tuesday.

The youth group at The Rock Family Worship Center has spearheaded this effort in Huntsville, has secured the necessary permits for the prayer vigil, and is providing shuttling to and from the courthouse (which is required by the permit if you desire to participate in the prayer vigil).

Transportation:
Meet at The Rock parking lot (next to the corner of Governors Dr. and Memorial Pkwy - map link below) at 9am. A bus will be shuttling groups of 50 to the downtown area for positioning of prayer. Huntsville Market Place Event - Onsite Prayer Team

Business Seminar - VBCC Onsite Prayer

What has become one of the largest success motivational seminar companies in the world, will host a special event for the Huntsville Business Community, Tuesday January 25th, 2005 at the Von Braun Civic Center (VBCC). Over 3 million people have attended the GMS Business Seminars in the past 27 years.

Speakers at these seminars include people like George and Barbara Bush, General Tommy Franks, Mayor Rudy Giuliani, Private First-class Jessican Lynch, Comedian Jerry Lewis, Actress Goldie Hawn, Zig Ziglar, and a host of other business motivational speakers.

Though these business seminars are not Christian events, the owner of the company is a strong believer who feels "spiritual success" is a vital component that must be included in these presentations, and so at one point in the day the owner of the company actually presents the gospel and typically hundreds (sometimes thousands) of people respond.

Taking prayer very seriously, and in pursuit of what is best for the individuals present and the host communities, there is also an onsite prayer team of pastors and intercessors from the community who pray together throughout the day for all that is happening.

Task Force Invitation!

Eddie Smith, from the U.S. Prayer Center, coordinates this onsite prayer for each event. The team of prayer warriors arrive early and pray through the arena, then have catered breakfast together in a private area they call the "The Power Center." After a time of getting acquainted, they pray. At various times throughout the day they will send teams of intercessors to different areas or have a specific areas of focus as they continue in prayer. Lunch is also catered, and during lunch they usually provide some additional instruction, plus give a book to each team member.

This may be the largest marketplace prayer-evangelism effort to date.

Eddie and the U.S. Prayer Center contacted us and requested we extend an invitation to those who might desire to be a part of this Task Force Prayer Team for the Market Place and Business Community during this unique event in Huntsville.
